Local authority secure 27 social houses in Monksland

Roscommon County Council have been given the go ahead to acquire 27 social housing units in Monksland.

The approval has come from the department of housing for the 14 four bed houses and 13 three bed homes at Esker Lawns on the Old Tuam Road.

The homes are already developed, with Roscommon County Council set to take them in hand and ready them for tenants.

According to Local Senator Eugene Murphy, the new units will make a real difference to local housing lists.
