Businesses in South Longford affected by a water outage earlier today are frustrated over a lack of communication by Irish Water.
Lisa Maher from Silk Hair and Beauty in Ballymahon was forced to cancel all appointments today along with sending her staff home.
Irish Water say crews were deployed to repair the burst and customers are expected to have supply restored by this afternoon.
Local Councillor Pat O'Toole has called for an upgrade of the pipework between Ballymahon town and Carrickboy due the frequency of the outages in recent months.
Speaking to Let's Talk earlier, Lisa Maher says the lack of information provided by Irish Water via the emergency number and map alerter causes disruption.
It's happened a couple of times now so it is a bit frustrating you know when you're not expecting it.
I downloaded the map alert hoping that I'd get the alert first thing in the morning so I could cancel appointments before I open up the salon.
People travel so far to get their colour done to be told that they have to go home, people were getting their colour down when we turned on the taps to find we'd no water.
That's when I went into the map alert to see what's going on and it comes up then that there's no water. There was no alert.
