Businesses in Longford are being urged to get behind a new commercial text alert scheme and county voucher programme
Longford Chamber of Commerce, along with the County Council plan to launch a new alert app for local businesses.
It's designed to inform staff and owners of suspicious activity or criminal incidents around the county.
Plans are also being launched for the introduction of a Longford Gift Voucher scheme, that would see the vouchers redeemable in businesses across the county.
A free information event will be hosted tomorrow evening by Longford Chamber of Commerce in the Rugby Club at 6.30pm, with email registration available at [email protected].
President of Longford Chamber of Commerce Fiona Fenlon says that criminal activity such as shop lifting or counterfeiting can have a major effect on a businesses bottom line.
Speaking to Shannonside Fm today, she says that the app will help filter the important information needed by local business.
