Gardaí across the Shannonside region say they will continue to call to and advise businesses who are not fully complying with Level 5 restrictions.
Concerns have been raised over the last week since the tougher restrictions came into force that some businesses selling some essential items were opening their stores fully.
The Tánaiste has clarified that businesses are only allowed open partially to sell essential items and to open fully was not just contrary to the current restrictions but is also unfair to other retailers.
Gardaí in Roscommon, Longford and Leitrim say they will continue to carry out checks of stores that are opening and will be advising owners of their obligation to comply with the current guidelines.
Speaking on The Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Rooskey businessman Andrew Reynolds says the local traders who like him have had to close their doors at a great loss, have been sickened to see what the larger outlets are trying to get away with.
