A local businessman has accused the Government of not doing enough to help Leitrim village in the wake of last month's tornado. Seamus Gibbons, who owns and runs Electric Bikes Trails in the village, said residents are still feeling the effects of the freak weather event. Taoiseach Leo Varadkar visited the area in the aftermath of the tornado but Seamus says support has been in short supply.
He did however praise Leitrim County Council and the Local Enterprise Office for their assistance over the past five weeks. A number of residents were forced into alternative accommodation last month while some businesses still await repairs.
