Two local businesswomen have urged the Government to provide supports for the rural hospitality sector in next week's Budget. Those working in the sector have made repeated calls for a reduction in the VAT rate from the current 13.5 percent.

Lecarrow publican Sarah Jane Coffey and Lauren Fleming, who runs a café in Knockcroghery, say support is badly needed. Speaking to Shannonside News, Sarah Jane says all areas of the sector are now struggling:
