The works on the Ballaghaderreen Library must be completed without further delay now that a contractor has been appointed.
That's the view of Michael Scally, the former head of the town team and campaigner for the reopening of the service.
According to the Minister for Rural and Community Development, the tender for works on the Ballaghaderreen Library has now been accepted and building work can proceed.
Works on the site are due to conclude in the summer of this year.
Speaking to Let's Talk today, Michael says he will resume his protest campaign should the project be further delayed.
"We were promised an awful lot of facilities like childcare facilities and other facilities, and we got nothing. I was nearly thinking of putting posters up again because of the slow progress so I'll keepy my psoters dry. If posters need to be put up again, I'll put them up if I see the council are dragging their feet. We want no more dragging of feet. We want action, and we want quick action".
