A local elections candidate has criticised those responsible for the circulation of anti-immigration literature in Castlerea. Gareth Scahill was speaking after a number of residents in the area reported receiving leaflets from an unknown source. The Fine Gael candidate also highlighted a number of posters that have been erected in the Roscommon LEA in recent days.
He says he believes the use of disinformation is a last-ditch effort to win votes by certain parties. Speaking to Shannonside News, he urged voters in Roscommon to give their vote to candidates they know and trust:
