A local elections candidate says carers in south Roscommon are crying out for support. Independent candidate Dominic Naughton decided to run after taking care of his father, who has dementia, for the last three years. He says he's experienced a lot of disillusionment on the doors in the Athlone Local Electoral Area.
Dominic says he now wants to be a voice for those carers who say they've been forgotten about. Speaking to Shannonside News, he said he believed he could get the votes required to be elected this weekend.
