A local charity group has made the decision to postpone its annual fundraising auction. The Lecarrow Benevolent fund made the announcement this week ahead of its popular June Bank Holiday event. The fund was established in 2001 and has since raised hundreds of thousands of euro for local charities, community groups and those in need.
Organisers say they've taken the decision to defer the popular auction until later in the year. The committee thanked members of the St John's Parish as well as supporters and sponsors of the auction. No reason was given for the postponement and an alternative date for the event has not yet been confirmed.
