The government has 'forgotten about Longford.'
That's the view of Longford councillor, Martin Monaghan, in his recent appeal for more healthcare facilities in Co. Longford.
Highlighting the convenient and central location of the county, the councillor expressed that he could not understand why healthcare investment in Longford has been 'bypassed' by governments over the years.
In addition, the Fianna Fáil councillor has noted the need for longer service hours at the existing facilities.
He said that the government has failed to address the issue over the years, but that the establishment of a satellite unit in Longford could be a potential solution:
