Local voices must be heard if Waterways Ireland is to change proposed controversial boating bylaws according to a local Councillor.
The proposed rules would include the reduction of mooring times, removal of winter mooring and a tax on businesses operating on the Shannon.
The initial consultation period has been extended to the 27th of October, having originally been due to close on the 2nd of October.
The bylaws have been the subject of a significant push back from members of the public and local representatives, who claims the introduction would damage local tourism.
