A local councillor is renewing his appeal for the development of additional parking at Roscommon hospital.
Tony Ward says the lack of spaces is forcing those attending the facility to walk a distance with some cars also blocking the driveways of nearby homes.
At a meeting of the regional health forum this week the Independent representative asked if planning permission had been submitted for a car park at the site.
In a response it stated there were no immediate plans for car parking spaces at the Hospital and work on an overall site masterplan must be completed in advance.
The masterplan will be carried out to allow for the development of a Rehabilitation Unit which is included in the HSE capital plan.
Councillor Ward believes a temporary car park should be developed.
