A local councillor is urging people to report missing life buoys to Gardaí. Cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council, Paschal Fitzmaurice, said it was 'very disappointing' to see a missing ringbuoy abandoned in a river near Somers Park in Castlerea. The councillor stressed the importance of the life-saving aid, especially in parks near bodies of water, where young children may be present. Speaking to Shannonside News, Cllr Fitzmaurice said that it is fundamental to inform local Gardaí about missing life buoys:
