A local councillor has announced his resignation from Fine Gael ahead of the upcoming local elections. Longford Cllr Gerald Farrell has confirmed that he will be running as an Independent candidate.
He will be seeking a third term as a local councillor in the Ballymahon Municipal District. Speaking to Shannonside FM News, Cllr Farrell said there were personal and political reasons behind the decision:
