Public realm enhancement works in Ballaghaderreen will force several shops to close down, according to a local councillor. Contracts were recently signed for the 3.5 million euro project, and it's due to be substantially complete in August 2025. The town will become more pedestrian friendly, with more landscaped areas, and there will be a one-way traffic system on some streets.
