A specially constructed dome to allow for outdoor entertainment has been finished in recent weeks in Castlerea.
Construction on the dome at Somers Park in the town began last year but was delayed for some months.
It has already been used for some outdoor events in the town and local councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice says it will provide a great space for a variety of entertainment.
He says it can be used not just for the town, but also for the surrounding communities.
"Thankfully the dome is now in place. It's a very fine steel structure with a canvas cover on it. It's available for anyone to use. It's a community facility. We've also a walking track around it and some exercise machines. It's available for cinema, for drama, for music events, for markets, you name it, it's there for the people to use it. It's not just for Castlerea, it's for the people of Roscommon and we'd be hopeful it will get some great use over the coming years".
