Two Local Councillors are seeking to have extenuating personal circumstances considered when applying for social housing.
The pair are calling for the local authority to write to the Minister for Housing Darragh O'Brien to enact the change.
Longford Councillors Paul Ross and Peggy Nolan brought forward the motion at this months Council meeting.
Councillor Ross believes that somebody's income shouldn't be the sole reason why someone should be eligible for social housing.
