Longford County Councillors have unanimously voted to support the local authority's budget for 2022.
It's estimated the council will need to spend over 61 million euro in 2022, an increase of 6 per cent on this year's figure.
Financial forecasts show the council making over 52 million euro next year in property tax, government grants and other income, leaving a shortfall of almost 9 million euro to be made up with commercial rates.
The budget received strong support from councillors across the county, with the local authority's decision to keep commercial rates unchanged highly commended.
