A site has been identified in Carrick-on-Shannon where a much-needed new primary school could be developed.
According to the draft local area plan, it could be located on lands zoned for social and community uses at and beside St Mary's Boys School in Summerhill.
Scoil Mhuire continues to push for a new school building, after its pupil numbers doubled in 10 years.
There are concerns the site identified in the draft plan isn't big enough, but Sinn Fein Councillor Cormac Flynn says it is suitable.
