It comes in response to the EU's decision to target American whiskey and impose taxes of up to 50%.

The founder of a Leitrim distillery has called for the EU to rethink its plans to impose tariffs on American whiskey. It comes in response to the EU's decision to target American whiskey and impose taxes of up to 50%. US President Donald Trump took to social media and accused the EU of being one of the most 'abusive taxing authorities in the world.'

He is now threatening to tax alcohol exports from the EU by a 200% tariff. Managing director of The Shed Distillery in Drumshanbo, Pat Rigney, says this could wipe him and many businesses off the market:
