Leitrim County Council has given the green light for an event space at a former Methodist church in Leitrim. The Shed Distillery had applied to convert the church in Drumshanbo in July and will now look to remodel it. As part of the application, the building, which was built in 1860, will be transformed into a community cultural event space.
The former Methodist Church is located around 300 metres from the Shed Distillery and will be used to host local events. Managing Director of Shed Distillery Pat Rigney said they wanted to preserve the building and bring it back to life. Speaking to Shannonside News, he said he was delighted to get the go ahead for the plans:
