Local election candidates and sitting councillors were put under the microscope at a special event in Roscommon last night. The event, hosted by Roscommon County Council and Roscommon Women's Network took place in the Abbey Hotel. It was aimed at providing support and empowerment for women and celebrating diversity ahead of June's local elections.
Candidates and councillors from across the political spectrum were in attendance to hear the views of women voters. Among the topics up for discussion were integration, housing, supports for those with disabilities, and local infrastructure. Speaking to Shannonside News, Roscommon Women's Network manager Nora Fahy said the event was beneficial for all involved.
