A well-known Longford equality activist has expressed disappointment over the latest statement from the Catholic Church regarding same-sex relationships.
Longford LGBT activist Siona Cahill says while she is disappointed, she's not surprised at the recent Catholic church directive on not allowing blessings for same-sex couples.
Siona who's also a former President of the Union of Students in Ireland says while she grew up in a happy Catholic tradition the constant rejection by the church has led to a total move away from the church and her faith.
