A local farmer believes that agriculture isn't as glamourous as other career options for young people. Independent TD for Roscommon-Galway, Michael Fitzmaurice made comments at last weeks Oireachtas Agriculture Committee meeting that a negative image of agriculture is being portrayed in the media and in schools.
Deputy Fitzmaurice said youngsters in national and secondary schools are nearly brainwashed before they have the opportunity to reach agricultural education.
