A Leitrim farmer is being hailed as a local hero for his work helping motorists in aftermath of Friday's heavy snow.
The N4 around Annaduff came to a standstill during Friday morning as heavy snow caused severe difficulty for drivers.
A number of trucks became stuck in the vicinity of Annaduff hill, leading to long tail backs.
One local farmer however, was able to resolve the situation and was instrumental in getting traffic moving again.
Brian Beirne used his tractor to tow the stuck vehicles on to level ground, clearing the blockages and resuming the flow on cars, buses and trucks.
