Local Gardaí are warning of the additional dangers of driving irresponsibly in poor weather. It follows the Roscommon Roads Policing Unit stopping a articulated lorry yesterday travelling over the speed limit near a school. Gardaí were carrying out a speed check when they clocked the truck travelling 77kp/h in a 50kp/h zone.
According to the local roads policing unit, It had been raining in the lead up to the stop, leaving road conditions quite poor. The driver of the vehicle was issued with a fine and three penalty points.
