Gardaí received a report from a woman in her 20s last month who received a text message stating that she had preapproved tax credits.
The woman clicked on a link and provided her personal information on a website she believed was My Revenue resulting in €1800 being removed from her account.
Gardaí also received a report from a 70 year old woman that she received a phone call from a person claiming to be from Vodafone offering her a €400 refund.
The woman provided the caller with her bank card details and as a result €400 was taken from her current account.
