Local Gardaí are reminding people to be vigilant to online scams. It comes after a man in Roscommon last month reported to Gardaí that he was the victim of a crypto investment fraud. The man is reported to have lost in excess of €50,000.
Cryptocurrencies are unregulated digital currencies that generally only exist electronically. Sergeant Damien Bartley who is the Crime Prevention Officer for Roscommon Longford had this advice for people:
