Roscommon Gardaí are seeking witnesses to a road traffic collision that saw a pedestrian seriously injured in Castlerea yesterday.
A woman in her 30s was hit by a van at approximately 5.30 yesterday evening on the Knock road on the outskirts of the town.
She was initially taken to University Hospital Galway and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital where she remains in a serious condition.

The driver of the van was uninjured and the raod was closed for a time to allow garda forensic investigators to analyze the scene.
