A Castlerea GP is urging those waiting for a PCR test to self-isolate.
The call comes as the HSE's self-referral portal shows zero availability for tests in Longford and Leitirm with limited appointments in the rest of the Shannonside Northern Sound region.
Dr. Madeline Ni Dhalaigh says PCR tests are generally ring-fenced for GP referrals for those who have symptoms or are close contacts.
The HSE is currently working to expand the capacity for testing.
Dr. Ni Dhalaigh believes people are tired and fed up but says anyone waiting on a test should stay at home.
