Ballygar GP Dr Martin Daly is accusing the HSE of doing little or nothing to resolve the issue of late or missing pay for junior doctors over the past decades.
Responding on Twitter to a story about an apology from the HSE this week over the late or missing payments for junior doctors, ,Martin Daly described it as a "culture endemic for generations of Non Consultant Hospital Doctors", and an - "institutionalised abuse of power prevailing on doctors ethical & professional goodwill."
The Ballygar GP, and former President of the Irish Medical Organisation, says people should'nt wonder that our younger doctors are choosing to work abroad where they are treated with respect by the medical systems there, and are not constantly overworked, paid late, or not at all.
Speaking on the Let's Talk show this afternoon, Dr Daly says an apology from the HSE is of no use when they clearly could change the system in a matter of weeks if they wanted to.
