A Roscommon doctor is calling on those refusing or reluctant to take a Covid-19 vaccine to educate themselves on the jab and reconsider.
According to Dr Greg Kelly, Covid will be present in our communities in the long run and those refusing the jab are putting themselves and others at longterm risk.
The Castlrea based GP says a high level of vaccination in the country will drastically reduce the transmission of the virus and protect those at further risk from the disease.
Dr Kelly says those refusing the vaccine will be making life harder for themselves in the first place, with vaccine or immunity proof required for accessing some international travel, hospitality, entertainment and live sport.
Speaking to Lets Talk today, he says it's imperative that at least 80 per cent of the country becomes fully vaccinated from the virus:
