A Well known local GP is urging women in the early stages of pregnancy to get a covid vaccine following new NIAC advice.
Previous regulations did not advise women in early pregnancy to get the vaccine until they were past the 14-week mark.
The National Immunization Advisory Committee also says people with compromised immune systems should get an additional dose of an mRNA jab, regardless of what vaccine they originally received.
The additional dose will be offered to qualifying people over the age of 12, no earlier than two months after their second dose.
Ballygar GP Dr Martin Daly says it is important that pregnant women now receive the jab before 14 weeks.
