A local computing and tech company has branded Athlone's new status as a university town as a major draw for future investment.
Cloud specialist Sidero have announced 75 new jobs at their Athlone HQ today as part of a 4.5 million euro expansion of their operation.
The company will be hiring across the areas of cloud and software development in response to increasing customer demand for digital transformation services.
Sidero CEO Carmel Owens says a close working relationship with local third level institutions will continue to be a core part of their company going forward.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound today, she says the flow of skilled graduates into the midlands will be a major boost for local development.
