The Green Party's National Co-ordinator does not believe farmers in the Shannonside NorthernSound region have anything to fear from the Climate Change Bill.
Concern has been expressed among farming organisations that efforts to reduce Ireland's greenhouse gas emissions will result in a drastic cut to the number of beef or dairy farmers in the country.
Leitrim native Blaithin Gallagher says each industry will have to decide itself how it will meet the ambitious emission targets. She feels that instead of being afraid of the climate change bill, - they should embrace the chance to be rewarded for their efforts in combatting climate change :
