A total of nine community groups across the Shannonside region have been named county winners in the National lottery's Good causes awards.
Two groups in Roscommon benefited from funding from the national lottery including the Melting Pot which used money received from the lotto to establish a Meals on Wheels Service in Roscommon Town.
Good Causes funding received through the Heritage Council of Ireland also enabled Ballinlough Granlahan Heritage Group to commission a 3D animation company to produce an animated representation of the Ballinlough crannog, the lake and its environment as it may have appeared in the middle ages.
In Leitrim, Dromahair Arts and Recreation Centre Association, Kiltubrid GAA and the Cavan and Leitrim Railway were the three Leitrim groups and clubs as county winners in the National Lottery Good Causes Awards 2022.
In Longford, St. Mary's National School, Cian's Kennels, Longford Swimming Club and Convent Day Care Centre were the four Longford beneficiaries.
