It's been confirmed that a local heritage centre is set to close its doors after 13 years. Ardagh Heritage Centre in Longford will cease operations from the old schoolhouse in the village by the end of this year. The operators, Creative Ardagh, made the announcement on Wednesday last on their social media platforms.
It comes as the owner of the building have indicated to the leaseholder that they will not be renewing the lease. The centre houses artefacts donated to it by local people and is also home to heritage exhibition the local community has created.
