Sligo University Hospital has welcomed the publication of the most recent HIQA inspection report on the facility. In the report, the hospital was found to be substantially compliant in 4 areas, partially compliant in 6 areas, and non-compliant in two areas. In its response to the inspection, the hospital highlighted that significant work had taken place to address the areas of partial and non-compliance. Patient flow coordinators have been recruited and the ED waiting area extended to improve visibility of patients.
Electronic information has been made available for patients and visitors via QR Codes and leaflets covering areas such as Emergency Dept, Patient Liaison information and how to make a formal complaint. They also state that a weekly report into long stay patients has been implemented to reduce lengthy transfers.
