Local house prices jump 12 percent over the last year

The trend of increases from month to month has begun to stabilise according to the report.

The average cost of a home in the Shannonside region has grown by over 12 percent in the last year.

They are the findings of the latest Daft.ie property report which show the average cost of a house locally is €182,905.

The figures released by the property website show that while house prices were largely stable between June and September, year on year prices saw a significant jump.

Roscommon saw the highest jump in the cost of homes with prices up 14.4 percent across the county.

The average price of a house in Roscommon now stands at €191,000, the highest average price in the region.

In Leitrim, house prices have shot up almost 14 percent, with the average home selling for €175,296.

Meanwhile, Longford properties recorded the lowest price rise locally, with homes 8 percent more expensive than last year.

On average, a house costs around €182,331 in Longford in 2022.

According to Report author Ronan Lyons, The increase in housing supply in cities across the country has had a stabilising impact on prices.

Dublin house prices are 6 per cent higher than a year previously, compared to a rise of 11.6 per cent in Galway city and 11 per cent in Waterford city.

While Daft.ie's new report shows the average price of a home nationally is over 311 and a half thousand euro.
