The chairperson of a local branch of the Irish Hotels Federation is calling on the Government to re-introduce supports for the hospitality sector.
It comes as new rules to curb the spread of Covid-19 take effect from today, including a 50 percent capacity limit on indoor venues.
Hotel manager Michael Yates says the Government must re-instate the Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme to its November levels, following a cut earlier this month.
He believes without an increase some hotels will be unable to retain staff or give them full time hours.
Cabinet ministers are meeting this week to discuss new supports, however, a final decision on these measures won't be made until the coming days.
