Nessa Cosgrove has secured a seat in the Seanad.
The Labour Party candidate was deemed elected on her first attempt at winning a seat in the Upper House of the Oireachtas.
She will now be one of eleven members of the Seanad's Labour panel.
Nessa Cosgrove was elected to Sligo County Council for the first time in June 2024, and subsequently ran unsucessfully in the 2024 General Election for the Sligo-Leitrim constituency.
