A Midlands Northwest MEP has described ongoing Government formation talks a 'charade'. Ciaran Mullooly also accused the main parties of taking part in a 'photocall opportunity' since last weekend's General Election. The Independent Ireland MEP says his party has reached out to Fianna Fáil in a bid to be part of negotiations.
However, he said leader Micheál Martin has yet to respond to the approach. Speaking to Shannonside News, Mullooly questioned whether the two main parties would get enough Independent support:
