A local MEP believes Bord na Móna workers are being left behind by the European Union Just Transition Fund. Midlands-Northwest MEP Ciaran Mullooly raised the issue in the European Parliament yesterday.
Responding to Mullooly's claim, European Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, Elisa Ferreira, denied there has been an underspend. Speaking in Brussels, MEP Mullooly says people have been left behind due to the complexity of the process regarding the EU Just Transition Fund:
