According to Minister Burke, the old 5 day ticket model no longer works.

Longford/Westmeath Minister Peter Burke is calling on the National Transport Authority to introduce a flexi-commuter ticket.

The Fine Gael TD says he contacted Irish Rail and the NTA on the matter last year and he was told the idea would be examined.

While it was also advised that any changes might not be possible before the end of 2021, Peter Burke says with the advent of the New Year he wants to see the tickets made available.
