A local mother-of-four has said more school spaces are needed for children with autism in the Shannonside region. Two of Hilda Duignan's children have been diagnosed with Autism and she has continually highlighted the last of special class space for children living with ASD.
She says there are currently 18 children in the Monksland area who are in need of special class spaces that do not currently exist. Speaking to Shannonside News, Hilda said missed school time had a detrimental impact on those children on the spectrum:
