The mother of a seriously ill young girl has made an appeal to Ed Sheeran to take a Facetime call from her daughter.
She turns 13 in mid-May and it's her birthday wish to speak with the singer-songwriter who is currently on tour in Ireland.
A 12-year-old Shannonside girl with a life expectancy of six months had sued over an alleged delay in the diagnosis of a tumour on her spine.
She settled her High Court action for €675,000.
Her mother who was praised for her heroic 24-hour care of her daughter broke down in the High Court as she told how the young girl is "not going to last."
She also hopes to have an ice-cream on Salthill beach in Co. Galway.
Longford based solicitor Fiona Baxter is assisting the family.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show, she urged anyone who could assist in making this girl's final wish come true to come forward.
This little girl I have to say is an incredible little girl.
"Despite being in immense pain and undergoing intensive treatment she always remains full of fun and full of life for her family.
Her only wish is to have an ice-cream on the beach in Salthill and a Facetime call from Ed Sheeran.
We have been making efforts over the last number of days. There is a number of people trying to get in contact with them but unfortunately, we haven't heard anything as of yet."
