Several local motorists are facing court dates following a range of traffic offences in the region this week.
The Roscommon/Longford Roads policing Unit has warned the public that they are carefully monitoring local roads as weather conditions worsen.
One person has been arrested and 2 others are facing court dates following several incidents on local routes over the past number of days.
In Longford, Gardaí detected a motorist on the Drumlish road travelling at double the legal speed limit.
Gardaí conducting a speed check in the area recorded them driving at 100 kph in a 50 zone and when stopped, discovered the car was not NCT'd.
Elsewhere in the region, Gardaí in Roscommon were conducting a checkpoint in Ballinlough when they stopped a car with no insurance, road tax or NCT, with the passenger also not wearing a seatbelt.
The car was seized and the driver now faces a court date.
Staying in Roscommon, the Roads Policing Unit stopped a cattle truck after they detected the driver was disqualified from driving and had no insurance.
He was arrested at the scene and will appear before court facing traffic offences.
Local Gardaí are urging motorists to drive with care as the busy Christmas season approaches.
