Three local people have been recognised in this years Volunteers in Sport Awards. The Federation of Irish Sport are recognising volunteers from every county in Ireland for their tireless dedication to sport and physical activity in their local communities. Tony Chrisite from Ballinameen GAA Club is this years Roscommon recipient whilst Mark Butler from Carrick on Shannon rowing club has been recognised in Leitrim.
In Longford, Gerry Doyle from Heartland Wheelers Cycling Club has taken home to county award. A €200 donation will be made to each recipient’s local club in recognition of their work.
