A local postmaster is calling on the public to show confidence in the postal system by using the services available locally.
Granard Postmaster Padraig O'Meara says if people were to move just one payment or service from online to a post office, they'd see significant benefit.
The call comes as An Post are set to receive 30 million euro in funding to help save outlets from closure.
It will go towards Community Banking, e-commerce and maintaining Government services in outlets, like social welfare or dog licenses.
The Covid pandemic has seen challenges faced by the network increase, and many small rural post offices shut.
Speaking to Shannonside FM news, The North Longford Postmaster says the public can ensure post office use into the future:
